From Cowtown to the Coast: Councilman Crain Tours the USS Fort Worth

We were excited to hear that Fort Worth City Councilman Michael D. Crain, who also serves on the board of the USS Fort Worth Support Committee, recently had the chance to visit the USS Fort Worth (LCS-3) with his daughter, Kaylee.

They were welcomed aboard by Commander Canby, who gave them a tour of the ship and introduced them to members of the crew.

“The crew was so appreciative,” Councilman Crain shared. “It’s always meaningful to see firsthand how much our support from Fort Worth means to them.””

As part of their visit, Councilman Crain and Kaylee delivered t-shirts courtesy of Visit Fort Worth and hats from the FW Locals store—thoughtful gifts made possible by the generosity of Fort Worth residents who contributed to the committee’s care package efforts.

The items were well received and served as a powerful reminder to the sailors that their home city stands behind them.

“I’m grateful to the Support Committee for continuing to strengthen the bond between the ship and the Fort Worth community,” Crain said. “And to everyone who contributed to these small but meaningful gifts—we made an impact.”

It’s always inspiring to see our city leaders engage with the ship in such a personal way, and we’re thankful to Councilman Crain for representing Fort Worth and helping remind the crew how much we value their service.

Stay tuned for more updates from the ship—and the many ways we continue to #SupportTheFort, both near and far.
